Windows Vista undoubtedly is a step backward for Microsoft. It is not user friendly and to solve security problems of Windows XP, Microsoft has taken the easiest path possible, that is to block everything and annoyingly and constantly asking the user for permission.
Highlights
And that is not all. Have you tried to
view content of a CD that has a large amount of data on it? It seems that it attempts to load or scan the content before you can copy or view the
content, and that could take a long long time during which the computer becomes unresponsive. I have given up at times to view the content of some data cds that I had.
Windows Vista undoubtedly is a step backward for Microsoft. Have you tried to view content of a CD that has a large amount of data on it? There is some other wierd behaviour can occure when you allow a program that does not have a valid signature to run on your computer or download it, even though you have explicitly authorized the program, subsequent attempts to update the program will not have any affect and it seems that the program updates happens in some wierd dimension and not in the current user space. Vista has a nicer looking user interface, however its Windows Explorer is not that user friendly. Its windows format is confusing and rather tries to fit 3 different views in one window, something that I have found annoying and confusing, I would have preferred the old windows XP interface. Another bad design in Windows Vista is its search option. While Windows XP offered a convenient, easy to understand search feature, Vista has a confusing search engine and you really never know if the search was done correctly or you have not done something you needed to do. Our final judgement Overall Windows Vista is not a good operating system. It is slow, its graphic intensive design seems to slow the overall performance of the computer and has features that are not easily understandable to the user. It seems that in recent years where Mac has been gaining popularity and with extensive advertising by emphasizing on Vista's problems taking more and more of the market share, Microsft has made an error in judgment by underestimating the power of users to choose and by thinking that no matter what, people still will be choosing Windows operating system.
