Inositol, the secret natural compund with capacity to prevent lung cancer
Inositol is classified as a member of vitamin B complex and is a naturally occuring complex in
many foods such as nuts, rice, fruits and whole grains. It is water soluble and human body can
produce some limited amounts of it naturally.
Research has shown that Inositol may prevent cancer. Inositol has previously been known
for its anti-depression, and anti-anxiety affects. Although these affects have not been publicised,
its affectiveness in treating these psychiatric disorders has been shown to be even more than some clinical
drugs with no or very little side affects. Inositol has a calming affect on the brain and can
reduce the anxiety levels.
Inositol's measurable affects on depression, obsessive compulsive disorder
and insomnia has been proven in many studies. Recently it has been shown that Inositol has anti-cancer properties specially in
preventing lung
cancer and colon cancer.
studies have shown that Inositol significantly
improved existing bronchial epithelial dysplastic lesions in colon and lung in smokers. Bronchial Epithelial Dysplasia is a
condition widely seen in smokers affecting their lung. These lesions are potential starting points for
lung cancer and clearing these unhealthy areas in lung will reduce the chance of occurring lung cancer significantly
in smokers. A study reported by Cancer Epidemiology Biomarkers and Prevention, August 2006 has shown similar results.
Drug companies are not interested in Inositol because it is a natural compound and they can not commercially
benefit from it and hence the lack of publicity on this inexpensive compound that has been shown to have real
affects in prevention of cancer in smokers or ex smokers.
Inositol can be purchansed from any natural and sumplement health food store in form of powder or capsuls.
Myo-inositol has been shown to reduce the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder with effectiveness similar to
many antidepressants and with negligible or no side affects.
Myo-Inositol is studied and determined to be more powerfule than fluvoxamine (a antidepressant widely used in
treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder) in reducing the frequency of panic attacks with less side affects in the dosage used.
A study of depressed patients has found that a 12 grams daily dosage of inositol significantly improved depression symptoms with
no measurable changes in organ function of Kidney or Liver.
Inositol has shown significat affect in reducing the severity of bronchial epithelial dysplastic lesions in lung resulting in
healthier lung against the possibility of occurring cancer in smokers.
